Strong Male Zombie

The Brutes are zombies that were large physically fit individuals in life. The plague seemed to amplify these particular infected's testosterone and adrenaline levels, making them slightly faster and tougher than Common Undead and Ravagers.

They also show signs of slight mutation and some believe they are the infected types that eventually transform in to rampaging mutants but no one is sure.

These undead are some of the toughest to take down, being stronger than both common undead and ravagers and requiring a little more firepower to take down.

Gameplay[]

The Brute is a type of zombie in Road of The Dead 2. Brutes are fast and strong zombies. Before infection, Brutes were physically fit, leading to this trait becoming what defines them in their afterlife. Brutes appear after passing the second checkpoint and entering Woodmere.

Brutes are shirtless zombies, wearing only black trousers and brownish green shoes. Their abdominal area is completely skinless, exposing the muscle tissue beneath. It is believed by some that Brutes evolve into Mutants, but this is an unconfirmed myth. Possible evidence for this theory is their shared great bodily strength, untypical for any other regular zombies, as well as the fact that parts of their skin appears to either be peeling away or been ripped off, which would mirror rumors of pre-Mutants tearing off the entire dermis during their transformation.

Brutes, along with Grubs, Undead Soldiers and, more rarely, Ravagers, are the only non-Mutant Undead able to grapple the hood at high speeds. They tend to be one of the strongest zombies in the plague.

Trivia[]

  • The Brute's head design is vaguely reminiscent of the character Walter White (portrayed by Bryan Cranston), the main protagonist of the TV Series Breaking Bad (2008-2013), due to similar head shape and the torn-off skin around the mouth slightly resembling his signature goatee. While an intentional reference is unlikely, RotD 2 was coincidentally released only a month before the series' finale.
